Sri Lanka's  tourist arrivals  during the month of September had increased by 36 percent.

Latest data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority reveals that the month of September recorded 143,374 tourists arrivals in the country, which was a 36 percent increase from the number of tourist arrivals in September 2014.

 

The highest number of tourists have arrived to the country from China and India. The tourist arrivals from India has increased by 41 percent while the number of tourists arriving from China has increased by 54 percent.

 

In the first nine months of this year, 1,315,839 tourists have visited the country, an increase of 17.1 percent compared to the 1,107,178 recorded for the same period in 2014.

 

The Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority looks forward to attract a total of 20 million tourists to the country this year.
