The Last House, Geoffrey Bawa’s final example of his infamous brand of architecture throughout Sri Lanka, is a 6-bedroomed property enjoying space, ventilation and barefoot luxury in a private location. Views of the sea or lagoon can be enjoyed from the bedrooms, set in tropical gardens with a central swimming pool. It can be booked in part or as a whole house, is staffed (including a chef) to accommodate up to 14 pax, and is well suited for couples and families. Set at the end of un-spoilt Mawella beach, it provides for a quintessentially seaside holiday mingled with a variety of wildlife, cultural and heritage destinations to visit in the area.
There are no specific room “types” per se at the property. The Cinnamon Hill Suite has three bedrooms, and three other bedrooms available for bookings by specific room. The Whole House comprises all 6 bedrooms.
Décor throughout the property is largely a blend of fresh white walls and grey polished cement floors, serving as a backdrop to a combination of antique and contemporary furniture.
The Last House too offers packages for destination weddings and you can browse through our many options for one that suits you just right!
